Create colorful and functional marbled pots using air dry clay and acrylic paints in a fun craft project for kids.

Ingredients

  • Air dry clay
  • Acrylic paints or natural pigments
  • Clay cutting tools (scissors or craft knife)
  • Rolling pin
  • Bowl of water
  • Plastic wrap

Instructions

  1. Knead a portion of air dry clay until it’s soft and pliable.
  2. Separate the clay into smaller pieces, mixing with a small amount of acrylic paint.
  3. Roll the colored pieces into snake shapes and swirl them together.
  4. Flatten the marbled clay into a pancake shape using a rolling pin.
  5. Shape the flattened clay into a pot with a thicker rim.
  6. Smooth any rough edges with water if needed.
  7. Allow the pot to dry completely according to package instructions (about 24 hours).
  8. Use the finished pots for plants or decorative storage.
