A fun and educational way to make delicious s’mores using the power of the sun with a simple solar oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cardboard box (any size)
  • Aluminum foil
  • Clear plastic wrap
  • Black paper or paint
  • Graham crackers
  • Chocolate
  • Marshmallows (optional toppings)
  • Tape
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Prepare the solar oven by cutting the lid of the cardboard box to create a flap.
  2. Line the inside with aluminum foil to reflect sunlight.
  3. Add black paper to absorb heat, either by placing it inside or painting the bottom.
  4. Assemble the s’mores with graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows.
  5. Seal the oven with clear plastic wrap to trap heat.
  6. Position the oven in a sunny spot, facing the sun.
  7. Cook for about 30-60 minutes, checking occasionally.
  8. Enjoy! Remove the s’mores, let them cool, and savor your treats.
