A fun and simple DIY project for the whole family that transforms common household items into a colorful piece of art.

Ingredients

  • White cardstock or thick paper
  • Tissue paper in various colors
  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Clear tape or glue
  • A small container of water

Instructions

  1. Cut the white cardstock into arcs or bands.
  2. Tear the tissue paper into smaller pieces.
  3. Layer the torn pieces of tissue paper onto the cardstock using tape or glue.
  4. Add different shades of tissue paper for depth.
  5. Continue layering until a vibrant rainbow is formed.
  6. Optionally, paint the edges of the rainbow with watercolors.
  7. Let the rainbow dry completely before displaying.

Notes

Consider using old magazines or scrap paper if you don’t have tissue paper. This project is safe for kids but supervise their use of scissors and glue.
