Create a stunning and sustainable glow-in-the-dark ocean water bottle using common household materials for a fun and educational art project.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 clean, empty plastic water bottle
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint
  • A small amount of ocean-themed decorations (optional, e.g., glitter or shells)
  • Water
  • A funnel
  • A paintbrush
  • Clean-up towels or rags

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace. Lay out your materials on a flat surface, covering it with newspaper or a plastic sheet to catch any drips.
  2. Start painting. Use the paintbrush to carefully apply glow-in-the-dark paint inside the water bottle.
  3. Add decorations. Once the paint is dry to the touch, you can add your ocean-themed decorations.
  4. Fill with water. Fill the bottle about three-quarters full with water.
  5. Seal it up. Cap the bottle tightly to avoid any leaks.
  6. Display your creation. Place your water bottle in a sunny spot during the day and turn off the lights at night to see it glow!

Notes

Encourage creativity with different themes or textures for each bottle. Supervise younger children when using paints and decorations.
