A fun and educational DIY project for kids, creating colorful fizzy rocks that react with vinegar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • Food coloring or natural dyes (optional)
  • Small plastic toys or gems (optional)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Muffin tin or silicone molds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together two cups of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar until combined. Ensure there are no clumps.
  2. Add food coloring to the mixture slowly, stirring until you achieve the desired shade.
  3. If you want to include treasures, place small toys or gems at the bottom of each mold.
  4. Pack the colored mixture into molds, pressing down firmly to create a compact shape.
  5. Let the molds dry for at least 24 hours to harden.
  6. Once dry, carefully pop out the Fizzy Treasure Rocks from the molds.
  7. Prepare a bowl of vinegar and drop in your rocks to see them fizz and react.

Notes

Supervise young children during the mixing and fizzing process to ensure safety.
