Create enchanting frozen ice crystal pinecones that bring seasonal charm and artistic flair to your home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 dry medium-sized pinecones
  • 1 cup of borax powder
  • 3 cups of hot water
  • 10 drops of blue liquid dye
  • 24 inches of cotton string
  • 1 wide-mouth glass jar (32-ounce size)

Instructions

  1. Begin by tying a piece of cotton string around the top of each pinecone, ensuring you leave enough string to suspend it inside the jar.
  2. Next, pour the hot water into the glass jar and stir in the borax powder until it dissolves completely. Add the blue dye and mix gently to create a lovely hue.
  3. Carefully lower the pinecone into the jar, securing the string to the rim so it hangs entirely submerged in the liquid.
  4. Allow the jar to sit undisturbed for 12 to 24 hours, and then lovingly lift the pinecone out and let it dry completely on a paper towel.

Notes

Ensure to store the pinecones in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
