Ingredients

  • Coffee filters
  • Food coloring
  • Water
  • Small bowls for dye
  • String or twine
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dye: In small containers, add a few drops of food coloring to water. Mix until the colors reach your desired intensity.
  2. Dye the Coffee Filters: Dip the coffee filters into the dye for a tie-dye effect. Swirl them in the dye briefly and let them dry.
  3. Create Bat Shapes: Once dry, fold each filter in half and draw a bat shape. Cut along the lines.
  4. Decorate the Bats: Open the cut filters and add googly eyes or glitter if desired.
  5. String the Bats Together: Thread the string through the top of each bat, spacing them apart as desired. Use glue as needed.
  6. Hang Your Garland: Find a perfect spot to display your garland, such as over a doorway or above a fireplace.
