A fun and easy project for kids to make beautiful suncatchers using clear glue and flower petals.

Ingredients

  • Clear glue (preferably a washable, non-toxic option)
  • Flower petals (fresh or dried, in lovely colors)
  • Wax paper or a plastic sheet to work on
  • Scissors (for cutting the petals into desired shapes)
  • A plastic or glass frame (optional, for framing the finished suncatcher)
  • Optional: glitter or small beads for extra decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Work Area: Lay out a piece of wax paper or a plastic sheet to catch any excess glue.
  2. Select Your Petals: Choose various flower petals in different shapes and colors.
  3. Arrange the Petals: On the wax paper, gently place the petals in a design that appeals to you.
  4. Apply the Glue: Use clear glue to apply a thin layer over the petals once satisfied with the arrangement.
  5. Let It Dry: Allow the suncatcher to dry completely, which may take a few hours.
  6. Display: Once dry, carefully peel the suncatcher off and place it in your chosen frame or hang it in a window using tape.

Notes

Clear glue is a common household item, making it easy to find. Feel free to use whatever flower petals are available. Glitter and beads can add a fun twist for kids.
