Create beautiful and translucent Bioplastic Suncatchers that capture sunlight and boost your home’s atmosphere.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
  • 3 pressed flower petals
  • 1 piece of twine

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the cornstarch, water, vinegar, and glycerin in a small saucepan. Heat gently on low until thickened into a clear gel.
  2. Pour the warm mixture onto a flat non-stick surface or silicone mat, spreading it out into a circular shape about a quarter-inch thick.
  3. Arrange the pressed flower petals in the wet gel using tweezers, letting your creativity shine.
  4. Allow the suncatcher to air dry completely for 48 hours until hard and beautifully translucent.
  5. Peel the suncatcher from the surface gently, and tie a piece of twine through a small hole at the top for easy hanging.

Notes

Store in a dry, cool place and handle gently as they are delicate. Exposure to sunlight can refresh their colors.
