Instructions
- Heat 1 cup of water until almost boiling.
- Stir in 1 cup of baking soda until fully dissolved.
- Add a few drops of dye to the mixture if desired.
- Pour the solution into a shallow bowl or dish.
- Tie a piece of string to a pencil or stick and suspend it in the solution.
- Allow the mixture to sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- Remove the string once desired crystal growth is achieved and let it dry completely.
