Instructions

  1. Prep your space: Lay down newspaper or brown paper on the table to protect surfaces.
  2. Cut the wax paper: Cut two sheets of wax paper to about 8×10 inches.
  3. Grate the crayons: Use a cheese grater to shave the crayons into small pieces.
  4. Arrange the shavings: Sprinkle the crayon shavings on one piece of wax paper.
  5. Cover it up: Place the second sheet of wax paper on top.
  6. Melt the crayons: With an adult handling the iron, press it gently over the top sheet for a few seconds.
  7. Let it cool: Lift the top layer of wax paper after melting and set aside to cool completely.
  8. Cut out your design: Once cooled, cut the wax paper into various shapes.
  9. Hang it up: Use clear string or fishing line to hang the sun catchers.
